Squiz is a trio performed by Hansen, Miranda Jirik, and Rachel Lehrer. “Squiz” is Australian slang meaning to take a quickly glance at something. This dance explored the use of visual focus in performance with sections performed with the eyes closed. Additionally, this served as a study for certain sections of 2009’s we should call it many things. Emily Scott’s haunting low-tech vocalization was realized through the use of several tape-decks.
